Entombed Sentinels
The Venomous Abyss · boss 2 of 8
The Blood and Breath of Ula'tek bar the way to Vashnik's inner sanctum. Ancient golems that long stood guard within the vaults, now corrupted by the venom of the nightmarish monster they imprisoned.
Two golems. They protect each other when they are close together. Drag them apart and kill them at the same speed.
A positioning fight with a maths puzzle at the end. Getting the two bosses apart is most of it; the rest is counting stacks.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Letting the golems stand near each other. Ula'tek's Dominance cuts their damage taken while they are close.
- Standing near a golem too long. Each one marks people nearby, and the marks stack.
- Getting Helical Toxins wrong. Wrong number of stacks and it explodes on you instead of fizzling.
Your job
If you tank
- One tank per golem, and keep them far apart. That is the single most important thing in the fight.
- Do not stand still and let one hit you forever — Empowering Slam and Bloodvenom Injection get stronger every time they land on the same person.
- Breath of Ula'tek sprays Toxic Droplets in front of it. Face it away from the raid.
If you heal
- Blighted Blood is dispellable. Dispel it.
- Contaminate is a slime that damages the whole raid until it dies. If it lives, you will not out-heal it.
- Both golems apply stacking marks based on proximity — people who stand in the wrong place take escalating damage, not flat damage.
If you DPS
- Keep the two golems at the same health. They merge at 100 energy and the healthier one heals the weaker one back up.
- Kill Venom Coagulation slimes fast. They damage the whole raid the entire time they are alive.
- Step on Toxic Droplets to pop them safely. It hurts a little; letting them explode hurts everyone a lot.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Split them up | Two tanks, two corners. Damage evenly so neither pulls ahead. |
| Vitriolic Homeostasis at 100 energy | They rush together, take less damage, and the weaker one gets healed to match the other. This is why you kept them even. |
| Helical Toxins | Everyone gets a venom. Walking into another player combines your stacks. You need to reach an exact number to neutralise it — collide deliberately, do not wander. |
Heroic vs Mythic
Heroic and Mythic
The encounter journal publishes no Heroic or Mythic specific text for this fight. Anything claiming otherwise is guessing. We would rather say that than invent a difference.
Loot
Everything Entombed Sentinels can drop, from the Midnight Season 2 item database.
| Slot | Item |
|---|---|
| Head | Shadow Hunter's Warmask |
| Neck | Sentinel's Vitriolic Chain |
| Legs | Venom Warden's Greaves |
| Wrist | Venom-Singed Cuffs |
| Trinket | Keeper's Seething Core |
| One-hand | Ancient Construct's Venomshiv |
| Two-hand | Caustic Keeper-Crusher |
| Held in off-hand | Spine of the Hissing Abyss |
Nothing matches that.
This boss drops a trinket. Trinket value varies enormously by spec — see the simulated trinket rankings.
Worth a bonus roll?
That depends on how many items on this table you still want. A boss owing two or more is worth returning to; one owing a single piece is a vault pick, not a roll — the bonus roll guide explains why, and the planner works it out per spec.
