Taz'Rah
Voidscar Arena · boss 1 of 3
The domanaar's prized champion, Taz'Rah, is forced to fight against his will. Taz'Rah demands his own death from every opponent, hoping each battle will finally end his suffering.
His shades charge in straight lines through whoever they picked. Read the line you are standing on, and be nowhere near anyone when Dark Bloom lands.
A movement fight with no cooldown to hide behind. Ethereal Shades pick a player and dash through them, hitting everything in the line on the way; Dark Bloom is heavy damage on the whole group that also opens Void Fissures under it.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Sharing a Nether Dash. The Shade hits everyone in the line, not just its target, and it leaves Shadow damage ticking for a long time afterwards.
- Stacking through Dark Bloom. It hits everybody and erupts Void Fissures, so a group standing together takes the damage twice.
- Being knocked somewhere worse. Void Strike throws a player back, and where you land is your problem — usually into a fissure.
Your job
If you tank
- Void Blast is the heavy hit and it is Shadow, so physical mitigation does less than you expect for it.
- Park him away from where the Shades spawn so their dashes cross empty floor rather than the group.
If you heal
- Nether Dash lingers. The initial hit is not the cost — the long Shadow tick on everyone it clipped is.
- Dark Bloom is the moment to pre-empt: heavy damage on all five, immediately followed by fissures under them.
If you DPS
- Watch the Shades, not the boss. They telegraph a line and everything in it gets hit.
- Spread before Dark Bloom rather than after. Fissures erupting under a stacked group is the wipe.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Taz'Rah fights with Void Strike and Ethereal Shards while Shades spawn around the arena. |
| Step 2 | The Shades dash in lines through the players they select. Everything in the line is hit. |
| Step 3 | Dark Bloom: heavy group damage, then Void Fissures open where everyone is standing. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Voidscar Arena — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
