Ula'tek

The Venomous Abyss · boss 8 of 8

Lore

The great shame of the Amani empire. The vast complex of Altal'Utek was created to imprison the weapon that proved to be as much of a threat as the enemy she was intended to destroy. Ula'tek has risen from her ancient slumber and threatens all of Azeroth if she should escape.

In one sentence

The mother snake floods the floor with venom. Her eggs hatch when venom touches them, and every hatch poisons the raid. Keep eggs away from waves.

An egg-management fight. Damage on the boss is almost incidental — you win by controlling where the eggs are when the waves arrive.

Waves cross the floor. Any egg they touch hatches — and every hatch poisons the raid. wave eggs — keep these OFF the wave path safe Moving eggs is the fight. Damage on the boss barely matters by comparison.

What actually kills you

Everything else is noise until these three are handled.

  • Eggs touching Caustic Waves. Every Blightscale Viper that hatches puts Putrid Membrane on the whole raid.
  • Spectral Coils landing on too few people. The damage is split by how many stand in it — go together.
  • Letting a Blightscale Clutch grow. It gets stronger until destroyed.

Heroic vs Mythic

What changes on Heroic

  • Blightscale Rawlings cast Poisonous Bite on players — the half-hatched adds are no longer harmless.

What changes on Mythic

  • Blightscale Spawn become Hardened: their shell absorbs the next hit and they cannot be moved while it holds. Break the shell before you try to reposition an egg.
  • Rawlings gain Boiling Venom, which lets them use Acidic Expulsion.

Worth a bonus roll?

That depends on how many items on this table you still want. A boss owing two or more is worth returning to; one owing a single piece is a vault pick, not a roll — the bonus roll guide explains why, and the planner works it out per spec.
