The Twin Fangs

The Venomous Abyss · boss 6 of 8

Lore

The first of Ula'tek's blood, Vexhul and Ithraz brood beneath a roiling sea of venom deep within the vault of Atal'Utek. Any foolish enough to enter the prison's inner chamber risk their monstrous jaws and toxic strikes.

In one sentence

Two serpents. A poison called Eternal Venom builds on everyone all fight, and only one ability removes it.

A stack-management fight. On Heroic and Mythic, letting Eternal Venom run high is lethal — Ravenous Feast is the only cleanse and it is on the boss's schedule, not yours.

Eternal Venom builds on everyone. Only one ability removes it. 123456 lethal On Heroic and Mythic the top of this bar kills you. Ravenous Feast eats the stacks. It is the only cleanse — it is not optional.

What actually kills you

Everything else is noise until these three are handled.

  • High Eternal Venom on Heroic and Mythic. It kills outright unless Ravenous Feast eats the stacks.
  • Touching Caustic Globules, which apply more Eternal Venom.
  • Stone Breaker hitting nobody — if it strikes no one, it hits everyone.

Ravenous FeastIthraz consumes Eternal Venom stacks. On Heroic and Mythic this is not a bonus, it is the mechanic that keeps you alive.

Heroic vs Mythic

What changes on Heroic

  • Eternal Venom becomes lethal at high stacks. On Normal and LFR, Ravenous Feast merely consumes the stacks; here, failing to have it consume them kills people.

What changes on Mythic

  • Same as Heroic — high Eternal Venom kills unless Ravenous Feast eats it. The journal does not publish a further Mythic-only change.

Worth a bonus roll?

That depends on how many items on this table you still want. A boss owing two or more is worth returning to; one owing a single piece is a vault pick, not a roll — the bonus roll guide explains why, and the planner works it out per spec.
