Merektha
Temple of Sethraliss · boss 2 of 4
Merektha is the product of foul experiments to produce an army of unstoppable beasts. With her clutch of eggs beginning to hatch, this mother is on the hunt for victims to serve as food for her ravenous children.
Lightning pools go down and never leave. Every second spent not killing snakes is another patch of the room you cannot stand on.
A space-management fight. Almost everything she does — Noxious Breath, the Storm Serpents' Storm Catalyst, Serpentstorm's Storm Strikes — leaves Lingering Storm behind, and the room does not clean itself. Killing the hatched snakes quickly is how you keep floor.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Slow add kills. Each Storm Serpent left alive keeps calling lightning down and adding to the pools.
- Being in her Burrow path. It knocks you up and stuns you, and Burrowquake is hitting everyone at the same time.
- A Knot of Snakes left unbroken. It prevents any action from the player it wraps and suffocates them until it is destroyed.
Your job
If you tank
- Lightning Bite is the heavy hit on you, and the Nature bleed after it runs into the next one.
- Hold her where the floor is already ruined. Fresh ground is worth more than tidy positioning.
If you heal
- Serpentstorm is knockback plus damage plus a burn, and Storm Strikes land across the chamber at the same time. It is the busiest cast in the fight.
- Burrowquake ticks on everybody for as long as she is underground. It is unavoidable and it is why the burrow feels long.
If you DPS
- Interrupt Poison Spit from the Toxic Vipers. It is one of the few things here that can simply be cancelled.
- Break a Knot of Snakes immediately — destroying or incapacitating it frees the player, and the freed clump is much less dangerous than a teammate who cannot act.
- Kill Storm Serpents first. Vipers cost health; Storm Serpents cost floor.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | She fights above ground with Noxious Breath and Serpentstorm, seeding Lingering Storm everywhere. |
| Step 2 | Hatch releases Toxic Vipers and Storm Serpents. Interrupt one, prioritise the other. |
| Step 3 | Burrow: damage along her path, a stun for anyone caught, and Burrowquake on everybody until she surfaces. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Temple of Sethraliss — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
