Melidrussa Chillworn
Ruby Life Pools · boss 1 of 3
Melidrussa Chillworn leads the Primalist infusion efforts in the Ruby Life Pools. Her fervent belief is that she is protecting young dragon eggs from the influence of the titans and cleansing them from the stain of Order magic. She will stop at nothing to fulfill her calling and return the eggs to what she believes is their natural state.
Break the Ice Bulwark before Frost Overload prices you out — and unlike most storms in this season, the eye of hers is the worst place to stand.
A burst-damage check bolted to an add fight. While Ice Bulwark holds, Frost Overload pulses damage on everyone and raises the damage that same ability does, so the shield is not a wall to grind through — it is a timer.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- A slow Ice Bulwark. The escalation is on Frost Overload itself, so the longer the absorb lives, the harder each pulse of it lands.
- Standing in the Storm's Eye. Chillstorm pulls you toward the middle and the middle is where Frost damage taken is increased. Fight the pull.
- Whelps left on one person. Cold Claws builds to Frozen Solid, which is a stun — and being stunned during a Hailburst is how people die here.
Your job
If you tank
- Pick the whelps up when Awaken Whelps goes out. Cold Claws stacks on whoever they are hitting, and you can afford the stun far better than a healer can.
- Chillstorm pulls everybody. Position for where you will be dragged to, not where you are.
If you heal
- Chillstorm and Hailburst are both group-wide and they overlap with the shield phases. The busy moments are predictable — the shield is the one to save for.
- Frozen Solid is a stun, not a debuff to dispel. Prevent it by killing whelps, not by reacting to it.
If you DPS
- Everything on the Ice Bulwark the instant it appears. Nothing else you do in the fight is worth as much.
- Hailbombs detonate on contact and knock you upward. Walking into one at the wrong moment costs more than the damage does.
- The Storm's Eye is a penalty here, not a shelter. Move outward against the pull.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Hailburst and Chillstorm alternate as the baseline group damage. |
| Step 2 | At two health thresholds, Awaken Whelps floods the party with Infused Whelps stacking Cold Claws. |
| Step 3 | Frost Overload encases her in Ice Bulwark. Break it before its own escalation makes the next pulse unhealable. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Ruby Life Pools — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
