Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein
Ruby Life Pools · boss 3 of 3
Kyrakka and Erkhart roam the skies above the Ruby Life Pools coordinating attacks on the shrine below, while also taking out any interfering dragons. If left unchecked, they will burn the Life Pools to the ground and blow the remaining ash away in a cleansing elemental storm.
The fire on the floor does not stay put. Erkhart's hurricane pushes you and the embers at the same time, so the clean ground you picked has moved by the time you arrive.
A two-target fight where one of them rearranges the arena. Kyrakka works from the air, seeding Flaming Embers and breathing frontal fire; Erkhart fights on the ground and his Winds of Change shove both the players and the embers, which is what makes the floor unreliable.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Treating the embers as static. Winds of Change moves them, so a safe pocket becomes fire without anyone doing anything wrong.
- Being in front of Kyrakka. Roaring Firebreath is a sustained frontal, not a single hit.
- Stormslam stacks on the tank. It raises Nature damage taken, and Erkhart's entire kit is Nature.
Your job
If you tank
- Stormslam is the stacking one. Nature damage taken goes up per application, and Interrupting Cloudburst is also Nature — the stacks make the group damage worse for you specifically.
- Hold Erkhart where his hurricane pushes the embers into ground nobody needs.
If you heal
- Interrupting Cloudburst interrupts casts as well as dealing damage. Plan a heal before it, not through it.
- Inferno Spit is significant damage on top of denying floor. Both halves cost you.
If you DPS
- Cast around Interrupting Cloudburst. It locks everybody out, so anything long should not be mid-flight when it lands.
- Move with the wind rather than against it. Fighting the push wastes the seconds you need to leave the embers.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Kyrakka is airborne, seeding Flaming Embers and breathing fire while Erkhart fights on the ground. |
| Step 2 | Winds of Change pushes players and embers together, redrawing the safe ground. |
| Step 3 | At the health threshold Kyrakka lands, Erkhart remounts, and the fight continues on top of her. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Ruby Life Pools — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
