Zaen Bladesorrow
Murder Row · boss 2 of 4
Clever, quick-witted and commanding, Zaen Bladesorrow oversees the shipments of illegal fel artifacts. Those under his command follow his orders to the letter... or pay the price.
Line of sight is the whole fight. The crates are your cover, his bombs are how you lose it, and there is only so much cover in the room.
A resource-management fight where the resource is scenery. Murder in a Row shoots every player he can see; Same-Day Delivery drops Forbidden Freight to hide behind. Fire Bomb — and Murder in a Row itself — destroys the crates, so the cover you have is finite and shrinking.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Being visible at 100 energy. Murder in a Row is heavy Physical damage plus a bleed on everyone in his line of sight, and the only counter is a solid object.
- Hiding behind a crate that is about to go. A Fire Bomb landing near your cover destroys it, and Freight Explosion knocks you out from behind it.
- Wasting crates. Every one that explodes is a piece of cover the group does not have for the next volley.
Your job
If you tank
- Envenom applies Heartstop Poison, which cuts your maximum health rather than just damaging you. Your effective health is lower than the bar suggests going into the next hit.
- Hold him somewhere with crates on more than one side, so the group is not all sheltering behind the same one.
If you heal
- Killing Spree ignores armour and hits everyone for its full duration. It is the one thing here you heal through rather than avoid.
- Anyone caught by Murder in a Row is bleeding afterwards, not just hurt.
If you DPS
- Move to cover on the energy bar, not on the cast. Getting there late is the same as not going.
- Spread your hiding places. Fire Bombs are aimed at players, so four people behind one crate is one bomb away from four people in the open.
- Do not stand where fresh Freight lands. Fel-Infused Freight damages everyone continuously as long as it is there.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Same-Day Delivery scatters Forbidden Freight across the room. That is your cover for the rest of the fight. |
| Step 2 | At full energy he aims Murder in a Row at everyone he can see. Break line of sight. |
| Step 3 | Fire Bombs remove crates and Killing Spree damages through everything. The room gets more open as the fight goes on. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Murder Row — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
