Xathuux the Annihilator

Murder Row · boss 3 of 4

Lore

Xathuux the Annihilator is one of Lithiel Cinderfury's most powerful summons. Although he loathes serving the warlock, he follows her commands for the sheer visceral joy of destruction.

In one sentence

The axe he throws is an add — it stacks damage on the whole group until it is broken. His rage is when he takes extra damage, so that is when you burn.

Two clocks running against each other. Demonic Rage is your burst window because it raises the damage he takes, but it also lays fel across the floor from his feet for a long time afterwards. Axe Toss meanwhile plants a stacking group-wide damage source that has to be destroyed.

What actually kills you

Everything else is noise until these three are handled.

  • Leaving the axe. Fel Lightning hits everyone and stacks for as long as the axe is on the ground.
  • Fighting where he walked. Burning Steps pools last far longer than the rage that made them, and the arena fills up.
  • Legion Strike into a healing gap. It reduces healing received on top of hitting hard, so the follow-up is what kills the tank.
