Nymrissa Wavecaller
The Tidebound Grotto · boss 1 of 1
Nymrissa Wavecaller commands the restless sea itself, concealing her lair beneath shifting tides. Those who dare uncover her sanctuary find her murloc minions eager to answer their mistress' call.
Murlocs that reach her bubble come out of it upgraded. Stop them on the way, and pick her frost orbs up before they shatter on their own.
Two conveyor belts running at once. The Alluring Bubble pulls Bubblefin Shorerunners toward it and turns any that arrive into Berserkers; Chilling Frost puts orbs on the floor that either get touched by one player or explode on all of them.
What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Letting murlocs into the bubble. Each one becomes a Bubblefin Berserker, and the fight has no natural cap on how many you accumulate.
- Leaving a Frost Orb alone. Untouched, it Shatters — Frost damage on everyone plus a stacking bleed. Touched, it costs one person a stack.
- A long fight. On Heroic and above, every Abyssal Rain grants Wavecaller's Might, which permanently raises her Frost damage. This is a soft enrage and the answer is killing her sooner.
Your job
If you tank
- Iceblade Flurry raises your damage taken from Iceblade Flurry with every hit. It is a swap or a cooldown; it is not something to sit through twice.
- Water Jet is sustained damage on you and, on Mythic, the tool that clears Lingering Frost off the floor. Aim it at ground people need.
If you heal
- Abyssal Rain is the scheduled group damage, and on Heroic it also makes everything after it hit harder.
- The bubble popping is a burst plus a knockback on everybody. It is predictable — the whirlpools are what break it.
If you DPS
- Kill the Shorerunners between the water and the bubble. Once one is inside, you are fighting a Berserker instead.
- On Mythic, the Bubblefin Frostscale shields every murloc near it. It dies first or nothing else does.
- Take an orb each. Lingering Frost makes you slide, so grab yours somewhere you can afford to slide.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | The Alluring Bubble forms and murlocs start swimming toward it. |
| Step 2 | Swirling Whirlpools surge in and break the bubble; Pop! throws everyone back. |
| Step 3 | Chilling Frost seeds orbs across the grotto while Abyssal Rain builds her damage. Repeat, faster each time. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in The Tidebound Grotto — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
